GB Photographers – Wedding Photography Journal – San Francisco bio picture

Welcome to our Photography Journal

We are Garrett Burdick and Matt Reoch. We met 8 years ago knowing that we were both passionate about photography. What we didn't know was how much fun we would have working together. After a few years of collaborating on other projects and seeing that we laughed as much as worked together, we decided to join forces to create GB Photographers. That was back in 2004 and over the past four years we've photographed intimate weddings with 20 guests to extravagant multi-day destination weddings with a guest list in the hundreds.

What we love most is how every event is new and exciting. Photographing two people in love and capturing the details both small and large is an honor. We love telling the story, from getting ready to the friends and family who haven't seen each other in a long time or are just meeting for the first time. From that first kiss as husband and wife to dancing the night away in celebration of that moment.

We love getting to know our couples, laughing, sharing stories, becoming friends and celebrating one of the most important days of their lives.

My Boys

I had to post this picture…
This is what I come home to everyday! Both boys sitting on the porch or playing on the front lawn, waiting for daddy to come home. I love it! This is what being a daddy is all about!
When I arrive at my exit, I call home and Mason asks “Is it time to wait on the porch?!” After I answer “Yes” I can hear the scramble and chaos of trying to round everyone up to greet me… When I arrive home, the boys are so ecstatic. They usually have a story to tell me or an art project to show me, it just warms my heart. I love my boys.

September 24, 2008 - 4:32 pm Jeramy Sossaman - so cute! you are blessed matt.

September 24, 2008 - 6:05 pm Sharon - Yeah... Jeramy always gets a better homecoming greeting then me. The big kids all run to him, and even Maggie squeals when she hears the door squeak and the kids all run. HECK! Even the dog runs to greet him!

There is just something special about when dad gets home.

I love it!

September 25, 2008 - 8:01 am wendyz - 100% Sweetness!

September 25, 2008 - 1:40 pm michelle - So sweet and of course you have a camera with you to capture that moment.
What about a pic of Laura with the sigh of relief (and joy to see you of course) that daddy is home.

September 25, 2008 - 2:41 pm Carrie Hasson - LIFE is good! it's these daily traditions that create the warm memories of childhood. and the fact that you appreciate these moments and see them for the gems that they are, makes your family truly special...
and of course it goes without saying your boys are so adorable!

September 25, 2008 - 3:13 pm Garrett - Coming home for me is:
I hear; "Dad's Home" screaming from the other room. Then the feet pounding on the floor as they run to....Tackle me. Then, with both small faces looking down on me (because I'm on the floor and they are sitting on my stomach). "Daddy, Daddy, let's play Monster, let's run around the yard, let's jump up and down"!! "Come on..."

I smile and say absolutely let's go.... I don't know where I find the energy.

I wish they just sat on the lawn and said, "Daddy, Daddy, come lay on the lawn and relax...we'll grab you a beer"...now we're talkin' :)

September 25, 2008 - 3:49 pm Matt Reoch - I love the picture of Laura's sigh of relief! I can feel that one a mile away - I just don't know if she would let me photograph her for the blog!

Love it.

Garrett, Ohhh yeah, me too!!! Believe me. I just happened to capture the calm before the storm!!! I don't know where we find the energy either! After a long hard day at work, we come home to two energetic little boys, waiting to attack! I suppose that when we look into their cute little 'puppy dog' eyes and listening to their inquisitive, adorable little voices we can't say 'No'?

September 26, 2008 - 9:26 am Carrie Hasson - this reminds me so much of my husband...he's said it a million times, the best part of his day is coming home to "his girls". and after a million false alarms, he IS coming home early from the mideast this week! i don't know if i'll be able to capture that "coming home" with all of my own emotion going, but i'm gonna try. i love hearing what happens when you come home to the warm arms of your family, Matt & Garrett. but i suspect the energy you get is from the peace you feel in being right where you want to be. you don't have to WORK or TRY all you have to do is BE and there is nothing better...

October 1, 2008 - 12:23 am Amanda Mays - How could you not be happy coming home to little sweeties like those two! Not to mention a beautiful wife! Blessed indeed =)

Hahaha Garrett! That is sooo funny!

October 3, 2008 - 11:25 am FMN Design - I love this routine that we have of waiting for you on the porch. We're all so excited to see you at the end of the day. I have to remember to capture it on video!

And, I would probably let you photograph me if you warned me first. ;-)
