GB Photographers – Wedding Photography Journal – San Francisco bio picture

Welcome to our Photography Journal

We are Garrett Burdick and Matt Reoch. We met 8 years ago knowing that we were both passionate about photography. What we didn't know was how much fun we would have working together. After a few years of collaborating on other projects and seeing that we laughed as much as worked together, we decided to join forces to create GB Photographers. That was back in 2004 and over the past four years we've photographed intimate weddings with 20 guests to extravagant multi-day destination weddings with a guest list in the hundreds.

What we love most is how every event is new and exciting. Photographing two people in love and capturing the details both small and large is an honor. We love telling the story, from getting ready to the friends and family who haven't seen each other in a long time or are just meeting for the first time. From that first kiss as husband and wife to dancing the night away in celebration of that moment.

We love getting to know our couples, laughing, sharing stories, becoming friends and celebrating one of the most important days of their lives.

Who left the markers out?!

It was quiet…  Too quiet!

Laura was away for the day at an art/collage workshop and I had the boys all to myself for the day.

I was in the other room for quite a while and noticed something that I normally don’t ever experience at home…  Silence.

Silence in our household usually means that something is wrong, or the boys are doing something that they shouldn’t be doing.

I slowly walked into the room where I thought Mason and Miles should be.  I quickly glanced around the room and didn’t see anything unusual.  And then, there… I saw a few toes peeking out from underneath the dining room table.  I peeked down and there was Mason and Miles, each with a marker in their hands, quietly coloring themselves all over their body.  They both stopped in an instance and looked over at their daddy.  I couldn’t help but just let out the biggest bellowing laugh, followed up by an ‘Oh, boy… what are you two doing?!”  They went on to explain that they were warriors and that they were putting on their war paint.  Soon after the discovery, I was busy building them a gigantic fort in the great room, preparing their weapons and then heading out to the backyard to battle.  What a wonderful moment to share with my boys…  It brought me back to my childhood and how a few simple markers and a big imagination can create such a beautiful bonding time together.  Here are a few images from our ‘Warrior Time’.
