We always love photographing destination weddings! But in this case, the destination wedding came to us!
Jennifer and Matt flew into the bay area from New York and planned a fun-filled long weekend with friends and family in Wine Country.
Their rehearsal dinner was scheduled at the Paradise Ridge Winery the night before the wedding. It was a perfect way to get to know their friends and family. The site was gorgeous, Jennifer and Matt were beaming with excitement, and the guests sipped tasty wine as the sun set over the vineyard. (There were so many great pictures from their wedding that we had to postpone showing you images from the rehearsal!)
The next day we met Jennifer and Matt at the Solage Resort in Calistoga. What a beautiful venue for a wedding! They have small bungalows that you can rent out, a spa and several pools, bocce ball and bikes to ride around on, a beautiful lawn area and a big pavilion area all with a modern/rustic flair. Jennifer embraced the modern meets rustic with her choice in decor. Her pink and purple color theme was tastefully handled by Joannie Liss Events and the entire ceremony and reception sites were so beautiful.
Jennifer was stunning in her Vera Wang dress and Matt was just as dapper in his Prada suit and purple striped socks. We planned their ‘first look’ to be out under a beautiful tree near the spa and we couldn’t have been happier that they decided to see each other prior to the wedding. Our time with them was a lot of fun (as you can see) and were able to make many beautiful images.
After signing the Ketubah, they commenced their ceremony on the lawn in the heat of the afternoon sun. It was a beautiful, traditional Jewish ceremony with many of their family speaking on their behalf. In fact, many of the guests in attendance traveled all the way from Israel! As the sun set, the evening came to life. The guests were led into the reception site and the dancing began. Mixx Company played a rocking set and had everyone on the dancefloor all night long. When the evening came to a close, we had a hard time saying goodnight to Jennifer and Matt. We had such a great time celebrating with them and photographing their weekend.
We wish Jennifer and Matt a long and happy life together!!
