We have had a lot of success over the years photographing wedding guests with our ‘Visual Guestbook’. We have an intimate setup of studio lighting and a grey modeled backdrop to create a cozy ‘photobooth’ scenario during the reception. The main difference between our set up and a standard photobooth is that we photograph the guests and highly encourage them to be as authentic as they can be. After a little wine and drink, some of the guests can be a bit overly ‘expressive’ at times. The end results can be quite entertaining.
When we met with Yacy prior to her wedding, we encouraged her to find some ‘props’ to bring for this portion of their wedding and boy did she ever come through. One of her good friends had an entire wood chest full of full hats, masks, scarves, glasses and accessories that she brought to the reception. We were oh so happy to be photographing one of the most entertaining ‘Visual Guestbook’ experiences to date. How many people can say that Darth Vader, Jar Jar Binks and C-3PO attended their wedding?!
